Pots And Pans

When you mix war with relationships back home, it’s complicated.  This is the thoughts of a woman whose significant other, who was due home, did not come home.

The last I heard, you’d said you were safe

But now my heart is filled with hate

What I was brought up to believe

Was stolen from me

By some men all diseased

And now they left me with pots and pans

All that’s left is pots and pans

All the dreams we were to have

Got washed away by anothers’ hands

In a visit to my door

What of the dreams that we hoped for

And now all I have are pots and pans

Read this world

Read this aloud

Read it all day…all night

See my tears

See my lines

see why I want to die

And all because they lied

They lied

They lied

Twenty years they’ll build a wall

On your name will all be scrawled

How you were brave

How you were strong

But nothing will be written of

How they were all wrong

And all I’ll have is my pots and pans

All that’s left is pots and pans

All the dreams we were to have

Got washed away by anothers’ hands

In a visit to my door

What of the dreams that we hoped for

And now all I have are pots and pans

Read this world

Read this aloud

Read it all day…all night

See my tears

See my lines

see why I want to die

And all because they lied

They lied

They lied

Oh, and I’ll have some pictures

So to show all my friends

But no kids, no holidays, no drinks

Just what you looked like

As you boarded the plane

And dead plans

All I’ll have are my pots and pans
